Keels are widely used in hotels, airport terminals, passenger stations, theatres, shopping malls, factories, building renovations, interior decoration and suspended ceilings, as they support modelling and fix building structures. This article introduces T grid ceiling system.
T grid ceiling system adopt aluminum alloy as the base material and are extruded into a T-shaped structure with a flat panel design and a typical thickness of 15 mm. The surface is finished with baking paint to form a white protective layer, which improves appearance and enhances corrosion resistance. Its physical properties include a low-temperature bending strength of 5 MPa and elongation at break of 7 MPa, ensuring resistance to deformation and fracture under temperature fluctuations and external forces. With a thermal conductivity of 0.035, it can effectively reduce heat transfer when used for partition walls and help improve thermal insulation of spaces.
Compared with traditional wooden keels, aluminum alloy T grid ceiling system feature moisture resistance and insect resistance for a longer service life. The baked coating prevents rust caused by metal oxidation and reduces maintenance costs. For partition wall applications, series specifications such as 50-series and 75-series keels can meet different load-bearing requirements. The 15 mm thickness balances structural strength and light weight. Test data shows its elongation at break outperforms ordinary steel, allowing it to better accommodate stress changes from minor building settlement. In addition, the flat design simplifies bonding with panel materials and further improves construction efficiency.
